Compression Vests for Cosplay
Compression vests for Cosplay
Many cosplayers and performers like to wear a compression vest to create a more masculine silhouette when portraying characters with a flatter chest than them.
For example, if an AFAB person wanted to cosplay a male character, a compression vest could help their cosplay look more accurate.
Compression vests offer versatility for your cosplays! They can be worn underneath your clothes, or on show for characters who often have exposed chests.
Can anyone wear a compression vest?
Of course! People of any gender expression, sexuality, or identity can wear a compression vest - as long as you’re happy and comfortable. Enjoy your new cosplay opportunities!
I've never worn a compression vest before, what do i need to know?
Please ensure that you always wear the correct size compression vest (you can find a size guide here), NEVER sleep in a compression vest or wear one for over 8 hours, and if you’re younger than 18, please seek guidance/permission from a guardian before purchasing and limit use to 6 hours or less. If you have a medical condition which affects your breathing, such as asthma, or any other condition that a compression vest may affect, you should consult a doctor before use.
As you are wearing an extra layer, you can get hot easily in warmer environments (like a busy convention!). Please bear this in mind when planning your cosplays, and make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks when needed.
