User tips

If you're new to shapewear, or just curious to learn more about it, we've put together this resource to fill you in.

Our shapewear is a compression top that is worn to smooth the appearance of your torso.

Shapewear is non-surgical and minimally invasive. It is not intended to treat any medical condition and we advise seeking advice from a medical professional.

Throughout history, people have worn shapewear for a broad variety of reasons. These date as far back as Ancient Egypt. In the 1920s when Flapper style was fashionable, women would wear corsets to fit the slim straight dresses.

Today people wear shapewear to cosplay, to go to school, to fit a suit at a wedding, to work in every industry, the list goes on!

Binding Basics - Binding Comfort and Safety

Comfort & safety

With shapewear, the intention is to avoid compressing the ribs. People often make the mistake of thinking that wearing a smaller size will make them look better, when in reality, it ends up making them look the same, but it can cause discomfort and pain.

Your soft tissue will only compress to a certain point, then any compression beyond than that will be putting pressure on your ribs.

Like any item of clothing, wearing something too small could cause stress and damage, that’s why it’s crucial that you’re wearing the right size vest.

Binding Basics - How to put on your binder

How to put on our shapewear

When you first try on your vest the fabric will feel stiff, and it might be a little tricky to put on. Our shapewear is obviously supposed to be tight, so we recommend trying it on with a t-shirt or thin layer underneath in case you would like to return it and don't want to get marks on it from your skin or deodorant.

Firstly, put one arm through an arm hole and pull it up to your shoulder.

Then put your head in.

Then your other arm.

Then you can pull/roll it down over your chest.

If you have a larger chest, you may want to gently reposition yourself down and outwards on each side, smoothing towards your underarm. This allows the vest to sit flatter in the middle.

Our shapewear doesn't feel as tight as other brands, so people may think they need a smaller size. Try looking at yourself from the side in a mirror with a t-shirt over the top. It is possible that you don't need to size down. Enjoy the space!
